Based on the integration of the advanced visualization toolkit (VTK) and the real-time rendering System (VolumePro), 4DView, a 3D real-time visualization system of medical image, which applies real-time 3D medical image (such as MR, CT image, etc.) visualization and interaction was developed. Firstly the VTK, VolumePro and their integration were introduced briefly; then the system design and function template of 4DView system was discussed in detail; finally some visualization results acquired through 4D View was illustrated. According to the results, 4DView system can effectively resolve the poor real-time characteristic of 3D medical image visualization and interaction, so it will have a wide application area of the clinical diagnosis, therapy and medical research, etc in future.

通过结合国际上先进的可视化工具包 (VTK)和实时体绘制系统 (Volum e Pro) ,研制开发了医学图像实时可视化系统 4DView。该系统能够对 MR、CT等医学图像进行实时的三维可视化和交互操作。本文首先简单介绍了 VTK和 Volume Pro及其相互结合 ,然后详细讨论了 4DView的系统设计和各功能模块 ,最后给出了从 4DView系统获得的一些医学图像可视化结果。实验结果表明 ,4DView能有效地解决三维医学图像可视化及其交互操作实时性不强的问题 ,在临床诊断、治疗和医学研究等领域中具有极大的应用前景

First, rendering pipeline, hardware architectures on per-pixel shading and fast rendering principium of the modern programmable GPU are explained in detail. Second,technology on how to analyze and solve volume rendering problems is described. Finally, maximum intensity projection (MIP) method rendering medical volume data have been implemented based on programmable Graphics Processing Unit. In a performance test, spent time rendering medical volume data based on programmable pixel shader in GPU is obviously less than spent time rendering it do without programmable pixel shader.

新一代的图形显示硬件集成了以图形处理器(GraphicsProcessingUnit,GPU)为核心的可编程顶点着色器和可编程像素着色器,为实现实时体绘制技术提供了硬件加速支持.该文首先分析了可编程GPU的绘制流水线、硬件体系结构和快速绘制原理.最后基于可编程GPU实现了医学体数据的快速最大密度投射体绘制方法.实验表明,采用GPU的可编程像素着色器进行体绘制所需要的时间明显地少与不用GPU的可编程像素着色器进行体绘制所需要的时间.
