1. This article gives an account of the relationships between the natural background values of elements in soil and environmental conditions. What influences the natural background values elements in soil is mainly the rocks, parent meterials and the types of soil. The order of the natural background values of elements in soil derived from different kinds of rock is as follows: base rock>limestone>shale>sandstone>granite. 2. The types of rock, parent material and soil should be taken into account in field investigation, the sample locations need not be uniformly distributed, but need avoiding the source of pollution as well as areas possibly affected by it. 3. Special attention must be paid to the selection of analytical methods and quality control in laboratory estimation. 4. The data need to be treated, polluted soils rejected, the types of elemental distribution determined and the background values of elements given. 5. The article also introduces the use of the elemental background values of soil.

In order to study pollution in relation with enviromental quality in suburbs of Baoding,we have collected 76 soil profiles in 1982 to 1988. And also has been certain elements as the contents of Cr,As,F,Cu, Zn,Cd,Pb,Hg were determined.It can be seen from the results that the agriculture soil in suburbs of Baoding,as well as,when background level in soil is dependent on the enviromental quality. Our experiments show that cropland areas are more expressive in evaluating background values of toxic elements in soil...

In order to study pollution in relation with enviromental quality in suburbs of Baoding,we have collected 76 soil profiles in 1982 to 1988. And also has been certain elements as the contents of Cr,As,F,Cu, Zn,Cd,Pb,Hg were determined.It can be seen from the results that the agriculture soil in suburbs of Baoding,as well as,when background level in soil is dependent on the enviromental quality. Our experiments show that cropland areas are more expressive in evaluating background values of toxic elements in soil in the suburbs of Baoding areas.Based on statistical processing of the analytical data, distribution types of heavymetal—porllutioll soils of content in various area have been studied.Finally,background values of Cr、As、F、Cu、 Zn、Cd、Pb、Hg in crop land in the suburbs of Baoding were presented. Someproperties were compared with those of content of heavy metal— pollution native soilo Decreasing content of Cr is 7.3%,As is 415%, Cu is 5.7%,Zn is 1.3%,Cd is 13.2%,Pb is 4.7%,Hg is 7.5.%.F is 0.3%,and the values of Cr is 50.5%,As is 9.4,F is 479,Cu is 20.9, Zn is 85.9,Cd is 0.68,Pb is 31.0,Hg is 0.14.The corresponding results to test (confidence level being 95%) with various methods,it is also suitable for the suburbs of Baoding.

对1982年采集本市农业土鉴76个样点进行铬、砷、氟、铜、锌、鎘、铅、汞的背景值调查。认为,本市农业土壤中鎘 ,锌、铅受到污染,主要集中在厂区附近耕地。提出应用占郊区耕地面积50%的粮作区作为土壤背景,其范围是:铭50.5 (46.9~54.1),砷9, 4 (8, 8—9, 9),氟479 (465~494),鎘0. 68 (0. 61 ~0. 75),铅31.0 <27.1~34.9),汞8,14 (0,11~0,17),用三种方法检验,表明获得的背景值符合实际。
