A new approach to estimate the spatial-spectrum of wide-band sources is presented.The approach is termed as wide-band signal-subspace spatial-spectrum estimation based on frequency domain modeling (SSEFD).Firstly,the noise-subspace invariability of wide-band signals is derived by analysis of the eigenstructure of the covariance matrix of the wide-band array signal.And wide-band signal-subspace spatial-spectrum is defined by the invariant noise subspace character.Then Buckley's broad-band signal-subspace spatial-spectrum (BASS-ALE) is proposed for resolving frequency-direction ambiguity when the new approach is applied to a uniform linear array.At last,SSEFD is compared to Wang's coherent signal-subspace (CSS) by computer simulation.The results show good performance of the new approach.

宽带阵列信号是频率的函数 ,因此其阵列流型及协方差矩阵都随频率变化 .本文基于宽带信号的频域模型 ,通过分析宽带阵列信号协方差矩阵的特征分解结构 ,证明了宽带阵列信号噪声子空间不随频率变化的特性 ,并根据这一特性 ,提出了基于频域模型的宽带子空间谱估计 (SSEFD)方法 .应用K .Buckley的BASS ALE方法解决了该方法用于均匀线阵时存在的频率 方位模糊问题 .计算机仿真结果验证了SSEFD方法的有效性 ,与H .Wang的CSS方法的统计性比较表明 ,新方法具有更高的估计精度

A number of papers, including Refs.2 and 3 and dealing with wide-band signal-subspace spatial-spectrum estimation, have been widely accepted. However, they bring with them the problem of signal-subspace dimension expanding, which makes it difficult to make a correct division between signal-subspace and noise-subspace. We propose three different modified methods for overcoming signal-subspace dimension expanding. The first modified method, called by us the signal-subspace dimension estimation method, estimates signal-subspace dimension by a number of eigenvalues, which include 99.9% signal power; thus this method can make a correct division between the two subspaces. The other two modified methods do not even need to make a correct division between the two subspaces. Instead, these two methods, called by us weighted noise-subspace method and extended MUSIC method, reduce the effect of signal-subspace dimension expanding directly by using weighted eigenvectors in the noise-subspace or the entire space respectively. Computer simulation results show that all these modified methods overcome effectively the effect of signal-subspace dimension expanding of wide-band signal-subspace spatial-spectrum estimation and possess good statistical performance.

宽带子空间谱估计法存在着信号子空间维数扩展问题 ,给信号子空间和噪声子空间划分及子空间谱估计带来困难。本文提出了信号子空间维数估计法、噪声子空间加权法和扩展 MUSIC法3种修正的子空间谱估计方法 ,它们均有效地解决了这一问题。信号子空间维数估计法用包含信号99.9%以上功率的特征值数目来估计信号子空间维数 ,正确地划分了子空间。噪声子空间加权法和扩展 MUSIC法不用划分子空间 ,而是给噪声子空间特征向量或全空间特征向量加权 ,减小了子空间维数扩展的影响。计算机仿真验证了 3种方法的有效性。

Direction of arrival(DOA) estimation is one of the key technologies of ultra-wideband(UWB) location.The bandwidth of UWB signal is so extremely broad that traditional DOA estimation methods which are based on narrow-band signal are not suited for it.Thus,a direction of arrival(DOA) estimation method based on the frequency domain model of UWB array signals is presented.Simulation result shows that the method is effective for the DOA estimation.

对信号到达角(DOA)的估计是超宽带定位的关键技术之一。传统的到达角估计方法都基于窄带信号,已不能直接应用在超宽带场合,因此提出了一种基于频域模型的宽带子空间谱估计方法。仿真结果表明,该方法能准确估计超宽带信号的到达角。
