There aredifferent viewpoints dealing with this"fossils": protomedusoid and medus-oid fossils; fossils belonging to unde-etermined phylum; nodules or othertypes of pseudofossils. Here, we should like to assignmost of these specimens to protome-dusae, present the proofs of the ide-ntification, and discuss the differentviewpoints. 1. In both external shape andinternal structure, our specimens res-emble closely those assigned to proto-medusae by C. D. Walcott, K. E.Caster, H. J. Harrington, and R. C.Moore, namely: the elliptical body,the exumbrella and subumbrella sur-faces divided by grooves into lobes(segments), the exumbrella and sub-umbrella lobes connecting mostly ornot by the periphery, the number oflobes and supplementary lobes; theexistence of oral, oral arms, oral gro-oves, radial canals, and stomach. 2. Overlapping of individuals(>15 cases), strongly suggest theorganic origin of these specimens. 3. The transverse fission reprod-uction shown by some specimens cannot be explained by inorganic origin. 4. This fossils is limited to cer-tain horizon extending over 150km.,and marked by some vertical andtransverse variations. 5. There is a great deal of spe-cimens representing the ontogenesisof protomedusae and medusoid fossils. With regard to the problem ofthe beautiful preservation of the fos-sils, there should have been favour-able conditions in life, the neritic seamight have been pretty calm anddeep, with a reducing or semireduc-ing bottom, so the remains of proto-medusoid and medusoid could be freefrom drying, weathering, breaking.and decaying Bosides, due to slowsedimentation, the remains were notsquashed into flat bodies, but on thecontrary, were filled and replaced bysiliceous and argillaceous substanceand finally forming protomedusoidand medusoid casts. The reasons and proofs mention-de above, are in favor of an organicorigin for our specimens.

The latter was mainly formed in the temperature zone, usually with rich animal fossils, pollens, early man's fossile and artifacts, which has un importance in the Quarternary study, So it has been aften established a key to the straigraphy in China. This kind of limeston cave deposit records the changes of the palaeoclimate. The arm of this paper is to introduce the types of the sedimcnt in a limestone cave, particularly, the constituent and the stracture of the cave clastic deposits, and to discuss the property of the formation deposited in a cave, and the comparision of the sediments between inisde and outside in the stratigraphy.
