An exact analytic solution to the Navier-Stokes equation is obtained, which is valid for all values of the geometrical parameter γ and the physical parameter λ. Contours of constant amplitude ratio and constant phase shift are given for typical values of γ and λ. It shows how the velocity distribution pattern of the flow changes gradually from a low-frequency high-viscosity type to a high-frequency low-viscosity...

Contours of constant amplitude ratio and constant phase shift are given for typical values of γ and λ. It shows how the velocity distribution pattern of the flow changes gradually from a low-frequency high-viscosity type to a high-frequency low-viscosity boundary-layer type. It also shows how the oscillatory flow is influenced by the side walls and especially by the corners of the tube. On putting the oscillatory frequency ω equal to zero, the present solution reduces to Stokes' solution for steady flow through a rectangular tube.

Presented in this article, are some preliminary results of rotating tank experiments, aiming at examining various patterns of flows around cylinderson β--plane. The radial linear variation of water depth was used to modelthe β--effect while the source-sink method used to produce zontal flow.Qulitatively, 3 differnt patterns of easterly flow passing around cylider flowing around, waving and blocking were observed. A single dynamic parameter exists, which governs the appearence of each of the three.

Based on the facl that the velocity component for the primary oscillatory flow along one of these coordinates is much larger than that along the other, a method of analysis for the primary and the secondary laminar oscillatory flow in a curved channel is developed. This method is applicable for a laminar oscillatory flow at all Reynolds numbers and for all practical shapes of the channel. As an example of the method, numerical results for the primary oscillatory flow at a small Reynolds number and the secondary flow at a high Reynolds number in a 90°-bend curved channel are obtained and analysed.

本文以弯道理想不可压缩流动的流线和等势线为曲线坐标系给出了弯道内不可压缩粘性振荡流动的一阶解以及边界层流型下的二阶解,以直角弯道为例对弯道內的粘性振荡流动以及二次流的影响进行了讨论。
