Kesults of one years' surveillance on affluent and effluent virus content in sewage passing through the Shanghai County Sewage Treatment plant are reported. The efficiency of virus elimination by primary sedimentation and aero-exposur?treatment of activated sludge is about 96-100%. The efficiency of elimination of BOD5 turbidity, total bacteria, E.coli were also estimated. The sewagepH and temperature were also monitored simultaneously and their influence on sewage treatment efficiency evaluated.

Result Shows that UV radiation could obviously increse biotreatability of the wastewater and might be used as biooxidation pretreatmento After UV radiating for 20 min and biooxidating for 12h, COD and TOC of the watewater could remove by 91% and 89% (correspondin peroents of that without UV radiation are 63% and 74%), the effluent COD and TOC could be reduced respectively to about 160 and 63 mg/l from the original 1780 and 570 mg/l. So the UV radiation is an efficient pretreatment to actived sludge process for coking wastewater.

采用色谱—质谱(GC/MS)联用仪分析了北京焦化厂废水中有机物的组分及浓度。研究紫外线(UV)照射(不投加氧化剂)对焦化废水生物处理性能的影响及其作为焦化废水活性污泥法预处理的可行性。结果表明,UV照射可显著提高焦化废水的生物处理性能,作为活性污泥法的预处理,在技术上是有可能的。焦化废水经20分钟UV照射和12小时活性污泥曝气,化学需要量COD和总有机碳TOC去除率分别可达91%和89%,而未经UV照射的分别为63%和74%。进水COD,TOC为1780和570mg/l时,出水可分别降至160和63mg/l,表明UV照射是焦化废水活性污泥法有效的预处理方法。
