The process of decomposition of supersaturated tetragonal martensite during the first stage of tempering is investigated by considering the characteristics of motion of a carbon atom from one interstitial position to another within the martensite matrix. It is evident that not all the carbon atoms take part simultaneously in the process of precipitation, some remain in solution for a longer time, others shorter, some mobile, others stationary. The process of decomposition of supersaturated tetragonal martensite during the first stage of tempering is investigated by considering the characteristics of motion of a carbon atom from one interstitial position to another within the martensite matrix. It is evident that not all the carbon atoms take part simultaneously in the process of precipitation, some remain in solution for a longer time, others shorter, some mobile, others stationary. By assuming that each transition from one state of motion to another has a definite probability, which is independant of time and carbon concentration but dependant on temperature and the nature of crystalline matrix, it can be shown that an isothermal decomposition curve can be expressed as a series with exponential terms, the coefficients of which are related to the distribution of carbon atoms in different states of motion. The agreement between this expression and the existing experimental data is satisfactory. The general tendancy of the variation of the coefficients with temperature is just what should be expected.

This paper presents a target assignation method based on the criterion of the shortest average time to approach in a cooperative engagement scenario, where two teams of aircraft are engaged and the aircraft within a team share information with each other through a certain wireless network. For given relative geometry and airborne weapon configurations, the time to flight of each vehicle against each target can be predicted through properly modeling the engagement process. Under the assumption that the aircraft, when be assigned a target, always tries to vanish the aiming error during its course to the lunch envelop, and hence its trajectories can be approximated via the ones driven by proportional guidance lows. Given that an analytical expression for trajectories is available, the time to approach is obtainable by numerical integration. Based upon this expression, a target assignation strategy is obtained that minimizes the average time to approach of the group of attacking aircraft.

As a subclass of temporal connectives, those of subsequence consist of nine expressions of similar meanings and fall under three categories. Fuzzy in terms of temporal duration, they all express short continuance, though varying in amount. An analysis of their characteristics of temporal duration uncovers the rules of interchangeability among them.
