It consists of 179 four-node isoparamatric concrete elements and 118 steel elements. The coordinate system is based on the total Lan-grangian formulation. The F. E. system has been solved using an incremental iterations (BFGS method) with 600 steps totally. A discussion of the overall behavior of the con-tai ment for the aircraft impact loading,especially the nonlinear behavior of the local impacted area is presented.

It is apparent that there exist some differences between the rigid load function of a reactor containment and the verified load function for undisturbed zone of deformative target when they undergo the impact of an airplane. In order to make engineering design more convenient and to simplify the calculation of nonlinear behavior of the local zone, and based on the verified load function, several polygonal approximate curves are suggested here for calculating the load functions of some typical structures.
