In order to study the devolatilizati on characteristics of biomass at fla sh heating rate,a laminar furnace was designed and built in our lab.The flow pattern in this furnace affects the study results extreme-ly.It is necessary to construct a cold flow test apparatus to make detail s earch of the flow in the furnace.The size of cold flow test apparatus i s similar to the laminar furnace.The study results will be very useful in conduction of biomass devolatiliza tion characteristics tests.
