It shows that the virtual mesh method is particularly applicable to the optimum computation for complex structures, and it helps to find the overall optimal solution by remarkably reduced computation.

The essence of the concept of joined-wings is the integration of its structure and aerodynamics. The best way to obtain an optimum design is by accounting the structural and aerodynamic characteristics simultaneously. We investigated the joined-wing integrated design of aerodynamics/structure, which is implemented using ISIGHT software.

This accelerated genetic algorithm searches the solution space in the neighborhood of the best candidate solution to produce solutions closer to the global optima.
