The essence of hot sizing for titanium sheet part is the softening of materials and stress relaxation.In the experiments of tensile and short-time stress relaxation for TA2(C.P.Ti), TC1 ( Ti-2Al-1.SMn), TC4(Ti-6Al-4V ) at high temperatures, the stress-strain curves and stress relaxation curves are automatically recorded by the X-Y function recorder with the help of laser scanning deformeter.The paper suggests the use of a logarithmic equation as a mathematical model of the true stress-strain relation and short-time stress relaxation. Furthermore, we derived a series of formulas for spring-back angle and radius in pure plastic bending and hot sizing. By the experiments in bending and hot sizing under different conditions, it is shown that the values of calculation approximate to the experimental results.The formulas obtained may be applied to estimate ( quantitatively ) the technological parameters for bending parts in hot sizing.
