Up to now alkali-aggregate reactions have been divided into three types: alkalisilica reaction, alkali-silicate reaction and alkali-carbonate reaction. The classification is not only scientific importance, but of significance also for determining the method of identifying alkali reactivity of aggregate and for searching for preventive measures. The history of the classification of alkali-aggregate reactions, the major characteristics, the expansion mechanisms, test methods and preventive measures are comprehensively...

Up to now alkali-aggregate reactions have been divided into three types: alkalisilica reaction, alkali-silicate reaction and alkali-carbonate reaction. The classification is not only scientific importance, but of significance also for determining the method of identifying alkali reactivity of aggregate and for searching for preventive measures. The history of the classification of alkali-aggregate reactions, the major characteristics, the expansion mechanisms, test methods and preventive measures are comprehensively analyzed in this paper. Although the results of studies carried out in recent years show that alkali may attack some phyllosilicates, there is an insufficient evidence to confirm these minerals cause damaging expansion. it seems unreasonable to separate an unique type, alkali-silicate reaction. As a result, we suggest that alkali-aggregate reaction is divided into two types: alkali-silica reaction and alkali-carbonate reaction.

To use slightly weathered rock masses as the base surface of high dams, as is the case in the construction of the Ertan arch dam, is a problem of great economic profit and scientific significance. It is directly related to the amount of excavation, time limit and cost of projects. In order to ensure the stability and economy of the Ertan arch dam, it was required that the slightly weathered rock masses around the base surface should be treated by grouting reinforcement and their mechanical characteristics after reinforcement should be studied. In this paper, the test results about the mechanical characteristics of grouted rock masses are presented and the mechanism of mechanical variation of rock masses is analysed theoretically by use of the fracture-damage mechanics method. Test results and theoretical anaylsis show that the strength of rock masses has been increased and thus can fulfill the requirements of dam design.

对高坝建基面使用弱风化岩体,成为具有重大经济效益及学科意义的问题,它直接关系工程的开挖量、施工工期和工程造价。在二滩拱坝的建设中就遇到了这样的问题,为了确保大坝的稳定性及经济性,要求对建基面附近的弱风化岩体进行加固灌浆处理,并研究其加固后的力学特性。本文叙述了灌浆后岩体力学特性的检测结果,并用断裂—损伤力学方法对岩体力学变化的机制做了理论分析。实测结果及理论分析表明,灌浆后岩体的力学强度有了提高,可以满足大坝设计的要求。

The developed level of industrial production,science and technology is controlled directly by the degree of research, utilization of mineral materials. In this paper, the significance, role, recent domestic and external developments and progresses in mineral material science are discussed. Several proposals concerning its further development in future are offerred.

矿物材料的研究、开发和利用的程度直接制约着工业生产和科学技术的发展水平。文章对该学科的意义和作用、国内外发展简况及目前研究的新进展进行了论述,对今后该学科的发展提出了建议。
