3)Accumulation of rice LAI is a useful index to reflect rice yield, on which yield estimation model is built could reach the accuracy of 95% for the rice.

Results The efficacy Pearl Index of Ocs & injectable pill, safe period, condom, spermicides and withdraw method were 96.5,95.1,93.3,92.4,and 91.0 per 100 women-year respectively.

The results demonstrated that inhalation of NO couldreduce siginificantly pulmonary arterial pressure in the said piglet, and patients without systemicvasodilation and increase of an efffective index of arterial oxygenation (PaO2/FiO2).

An AIDS/ STD/ safer sex peer education program was carried out among 614 freshmen in three universities in Beijing between September 1998 and June 1999 Process evaluation was conducted in order to improve the quality of the future programs The results showed that the average attendance rate was 86 2%,program effectiveness index(PEI) was 0 96,and the evaluative scores of the peer education program given by both program supervisors and educated students were 4 4 This study indicates that the program worked well

It is therefore considered that magnetic susceptibility is an effective indicator for variation in heavy metal concentrations, and may serve as a new method for studying heavy metal pollution.

Concerning the solving of function equations f(x) = 0, a new type of globally convergent iterative method is given. In its every iterative step, only one function evaluation for f is required.

Adding a metal electrode on the waveguide affects its effective index and analysis based on experimental results is given.

The increment of waveguide effective index is in the order of 2 × 10-4.

The simulation is carried out with the Effective Index Method (EIM) and two-dimensional (2-D) Finite Difference Beam Propagation Method (FD-BPM).

In addition, it was ascertained that the bulk density of the unraveled sample, ρ0, of the fiber-powder mixture was an effective index expressing the degree of dispersion.

The effective index method is used for calculating theoretical propagation constants, assuming no sideways diffusion.

The most useful index of MP for comparing two hemispheres was shown to be the amplitude and wave form of the N component or readiness potential contralateral to the contracting muscle.

Thus, forehead sweating may be a useful index of mental strain.

The inactivation of p16 gene is one of the most useful index to predict the prognosis of patient with GC.

In was concluded that the Zn efflux rate from erythrocytes incubated in the presence of o-phenanthroline is related to Zn status but is not sensitive enough to be a useful index of this status.

Thus they may provide a useful index of toxicity in in vitro systems for screening for toxicity.

Based on the concept of observational inverse analysis presented by the author, an investigation of linking action of transverse joints in Liujiaxia Gravity Dam was made by comparing the observed deflection with the theoretical correspondent in plane problem. As a result, an effective critical mark ( ECM ) defined in the paper was found for each block. As the water level goes up above ECM of a block, it will undergo a smaller deflection than it would do as in plane action. On the contrary, as the water level...

On the contrary, as the water level draws down under ECM, the situation just reverses. Consequently, the linking action of transverse joints may be logically evaluated by the location of ECM which is determined by the method discussed in this paper. Furthermore, for measuring the space action of the dam as a whole, an effective index has been defined as well.

In this paper, the exponential asymptotic solution (E, A. S.) of differential equation is discussed Firstly, E. A. S. of the second-order differential equation is studied and the orthogonal conditions of the uniformly valid E, A. S. are found out. Next, E. A. S. in matched asymptotic method is discussed. Finally, some examples are givea.

In vitro study, 0.125% sodium morrhuate (SM) completely abolished human spermatozoal motility at once. In male rabbits, dogs and rhesus monkeys, a single injection of 0.3～2.0 ml SM via vas deferens into each cauda epididymis brought about azoospermia, oligosperima or asthenospermia in cauda epididymis on days 3 to 14 after treatment. By using the same procedure, a single injection of 1～2 ml SM was studied in 1061 fertile male volunteers for 7 to 28 months. The Pearl index was 2.06/100 women years. The effective...

The effective index was 97.94/100 women years. Blood FSH, LH, testosterone levels and libido were unchanged. Post- treatment semen analysis of 445 cases indicates that 361 had azoospermic ejaculation, 25 had sperm count lower than 4×10~6ml,20 ranging from4×10~6/ml to20×10~6/ml and 39 more than 20×10~6/ml. The seminiferous tubules of the animals on days 3 to 90 after treatment exhibited different degrees of damage. Under LM and EM, no discernible abnormality was found in spermatogonia, Sertoli cells and and Leydig cells. In six human testicular biopsies performed on months 15, 17, 18 and 21 after treatment, about 50% of the seminiferous tubules exhibited normal spermatogenesis with, however, exfoliated cells seen in the tubular lumen. It is evident from our results that injection of SM via the vas deferens into epididymis may be developed into a simple and non- surgical method for male fertility control.
