    A convenient method is reported for the preparation of piperazine phosphate, an anthelmintie and pharmaceutical intermediate. p-Toluenesulphonyl chloride, a by-product from saccharin manufacture, was first converted into p-toluenesulphonamide which was then condensed with ethylene dichloride in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate to form N,N'-bis-(p-toluenesulphonyl)-piperazine. Hydrolysis with concentrated phosphoric acid gave piperazine acid phosphate; the latter on partial neutralization with sodium...

    The dawncomer is the key component of a multi-stage fluidized bed. A pneumatically controlled downcomer has been devised, consisting of a fully fluidized dipleg followed by a conical spout for upward discharge in dense phase. Such a design has been found to insure against bridging of solids in descent and against spouting of solids from a lower layer caused by gas by passing.

    On studying the Kinetics of ethylene oxidation reaction with feed containing 4.0-4.4% ethylene and 6.0~6.7% oxygen at 190—230℃ and 10 atm on the YL—016 silver containing catalyst mentioned in the preceding paper, the following reaction scheme was proposed. and the individual rate equations with their kinetic parameters was determined. The effect of small amount of dichloethane in the feed was examined and the suitability of the proposed equations to the feed containing 7.7% carbon dioxide was also confirmed....

The effect of small amount of dichloethane in the feed was examined and the suitability of the proposed equations to the feed containing 7.7% carbon dioxide was also confirmed. The results of this study may be used for the scale-up of chemical reactors.
