This paper describes the basic concepts, main contents and applications of system-integration technology, which has been considered as one of main directions in present development of microelectronic technology. Authors point out it is very correct and necessary, that the basic research of system-integration technology was subsidized as a major project by the National Natural Science Fund Committee, and especially point out its significance in the development of microelectronic industry in our country. The next half part mainly reports the advances and the first fruits in each subprojects of this basic research.

Amorphous silicon based semiconductor alloy is one kind of new photovoltaic materials which has been developed very quickly and has been got extremely attention by the scientific world for its variety of applications in photovoltaic technique, especially in the thin film solar cells, large area TFT (field effect transistor) matrix and sensors. The studies of the foundational physics problems have not only profound academic value but also great help in directing the application of these materials. Many institute in China have studied amorphous semiconductors since late 1970s. After the research of national 6th and 7th five year plan, research in many fields of the amorphous semiconductors has gone into the front area of the studies of the materials in the world. The National Natural Science Foundation Committee approved "The study of some physics problem in amorphous semiconductors" to be one of the vital project in order to strengthen of the fundamental physics in this area and promote their application and development. This vital program includes five subjects which were taken by ten institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Education Committee. This article introduces briefly the significance, the recant development and the future plan of this project.

非晶硅基合金半导体材料是近些年开发研究的新型光电功能材料。由于它在光电技术方面具有广泛应用背景,特别是在薄膜太阳能电池和大面积薄膜场效应管(TFT)矩阵以及各类敏感器件方面的成功应用,国际科技界对这类新材料的研究给予了高度的重视。尤其是对这类材料的基本物理问题的研究更有其深刻的学术价值和对应用的重要指导意义。我国自70年代末即有较多部门研究非晶态半导体,经过“六五”、“七五”期间的工作,不少方面处于国际水平。1989年国家自然科学基金委员会批准将“非晶半导体中若干物理问题的研究”列为重大项目,旨在加强这一领域的基础物理的研究,推动应用开发。本重大项目包括五个子课题,由中国科学院和国家教委的10个单位承担。本文扼要介绍本项目的研究意义,目前的进展情况和今后的计划和设想。

Surface and interface of solids have been a remarkable field in the world for about three decades. In China, however, the research in this field had been delayed until the end of seventies. In 1987, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) approved "The Study of Atomic and Electronic Structures of Solid Surfaces and Interfaces" to be one of the major projects. This project has been carried out by five institues in China. In the present paper the progress of this project was breifly reviewed.

固体表面与界面是近30年来国际科技界所瞩目的领域。本文简述了国家自然科学基金委员会“七五”重大项目“固体表面和界面的结构与电子态研究”的意义及研究成果。项目分为六个子课题,由国家教委和中科院所属的五个单位承担,至1991年底已告完成。
