This article discusses how to express the cultural characteristics of Shenyang City in architectural projects. It analyses and summarizes the main distinguishing features,the historic evolution and present situation of the city construction in Shenyang,the unique Shenyang Imperial Palace,as well as how to show the cultural characteristics in the new project of hotel. It extends the problem to seking unity of relationship between traditional culture and modern architectural creation.

Abstract Since childhood Ba Jin has been fond of A Dream of Red Mansions.His understanding of the novel, starting from the relation of life and creation, helped to form his original views in the study of this great work. When he wrote his Trilogy of Turbulent Currents, Ba Jin drew on and learned Cao Xue-qin's artistic experience in the portrayal of characters, arrangement of events, description of scenes, etc. As they are men of letters in different times, and their personal experiences, cultural accomplishments,...

When he wrote his Trilogy of Turbulent Currents, Ba Jin drew on and learned Cao Xue-qin's artistic experience in the portrayal of characters, arrangement of events, description of scenes, etc. As they are men of letters in different times, and their personal experiences, cultural accomplishments, qualities, dispositions, aesthetic standards and motives of creation are widely different, the two novels dfiffer in the respects of content, characters and theme. But each has a place to stand in the history of Chinese literature.

巴金从童年到老年都一直喜爱《红楼梦》,从生活与创作的关系出发理解这部小说,形成有独到见解的红学观。他创作《激流三部曲》时,在人物形象的塑造、情节的安排和场景描写等方面,学习和借鉴过曹雪芹的艺术经验。但由于他们所处的时代、经历、文化修养、气质、个性和审美理想、创作动机迥然有别,因而这两侧小说所概括的生活内容、所表现的人物命运和主题思想也不一样,在中国文学史上,它们有各自的地位。
