Part 2:A description of the environmental impact of fluid power as evidenced mainly through noise,leakage and fluids as pressure media adds to the discussion of trends in fluid power.Finally the use of FE programmes is demonstrated by means of several examples to illustrate their growing importance.

It is commonly recognized that full text databases of periodicals are important document search tools. However, its role to replace the printed journals is not fully recognized. Because it is not a usual electronic journal, but an integrated set of contents of many journals, it is a new topic to study whether it can replace printed journals. 17 refs.
