Under the challenge of the 21st century the higher education of the chemical industry should notice that the lifo-time education will induce changes of the educational system, that Inter-crossing and permeating of different disciplines will promote reforms of the placement of specialities of higher education and the structure of curricula related to the chemical industry. It is necessary to make full use of the advantages of the htgher education institutions to set up more combinations of teaching, sclerotic research and production. The development of modern teaching facilities has already made a strong impact on the traditional style of teaching. It is suggested that the higher education of the chemical industry in China should pay right now special attention to the basic and directive problems and carry cut accordingly reforms step by step.

面对21世纪的挑战,化工高等教育必须思考终身教育将引起的教育体系的变化、学科交叉渗透将促进的化工高等教育专业设置和课程结构的变革;应充分发挥高校优势,形成更多的教学、科研、生产联合体。现代化教学手段的发展,冲击着传统教学方式。我国化工高等教育应从现在起抓一些带根本性、方向性的问题,进行有目的、有计划的改革。

This paper summarises experiences and existing problems in developing higher education of chemical industry during past forty years,expresses the demands of different qualified personnel for modernization of chemical industry,and emphasizes the training of chemical scientists and technologists adapted to the needs of 21st century as the fundamental task of current higher chemical industry education.

总结了化工高等教育40年来发展的经验及存在问题;明确了化学工业现代化建设对各类人才的需要;并强调了化工高等教育落实化学工业“九五”发展计划和2010年发展目标的根本任务是努力培养面向21世纪的化工科技人才
