Comparative sedimentology has been raised as a new scientific philosophy recently to replace tlie simple understanding of Uniformitanrianism. In a sense, we may say, the present is the key to the past. It means that the principles of physics and chemistry did work in geological history in the way as they do at present. However, it never means that the boundary conditions of environments and the speed of geological processes in history are the same as their present status. Simple comparison, therefore, will cause mistakes. The only way to solve this question is making all the comparison on the basis of models which are synthesized from both modern and ancient data as a general summary of a specific sedimentary environment.

A complete Holocene marine transgression cycle has been revealed by quan-titative micropaleontological analyses of ten sediment cores taken from the north-eastern waters of Beibu Gulf (Gulf of Tonkin) off Guangxi Province.The Holocene transgression strata vary in lithology and micro-paleontology in three parts of the studied sea area:l)in the eastern part near 20m isobath the Holocene deposits are composed of greenish-grey silty clay and clay, with microfauna dominated by Schackoinella globosa; 2) in the middle and western parts near 20m isobath the deposits of Holocene transgression consist of muddy sand and the microfauna is characterized by Hanzawaia nip-ponica as its main component; 3) in the area between 5m and 15m isobaths the Holocene transgression strata are composed of muddy sand, silty clay and sand, with Ammonia beccarii var. as the major element in its microfauna.The time and history of Holocene transgression in the area under consideration have been determined based on a comparison of the microfaunas with their modern counterparts and on carbon-14 dates.It is found that the Holocene trahgsgression reached the studied area at the beginning of the Atlantic time about 8,000y BP. Sedimentary records of the early stage of transgression are representd by marine-continental transitional facies. Then the transgression enhanced its influence and reached its maximum about 5,800-4,000y BP.

通过对北部湾东北部10个柱状样进行微体古生物定量分析,揭示了全新世一个完整的海侵旋回。区内发现了Ammonia beccarii var.,Schackoinella globosa,Hanzawaia nip-ponica等三个主要微体古生物群,结合~14c测定年龄资料和岩性,推断了本区全新世海侵的时间和历史,确定本区大约距今8000a左右的大西洋期开始接受海侵,距今4000—5800a前达到最高潮。

The Pre-Sinian Jiaodong Group emerged in Jiaodong region is a suite of metamorphic rocks which have endured many times of tectonic deformation. To study the structure of these rocks is important for understanding thoroughly the crustal evolution of the Jiaodong region,the characteristics of palrostructures and the devision of strata.The stuctural cycle in the Jiaodong Group can be preliminarily devided into four stages, the fold style, scale, and direction of each stage have different characteristics. According to the development characteristics and the styles of refold and interference of several-stage folds, the paleo-metamorphic rocks of this suite have endured many phase tectonic movements. The general trend of deformation is that the deformation began with small-demension folds in the first stage which have the characteristics of intensive structural replacement and plastic flow in bed, and ended with large-demension, wide and smooth, weak plastic deformation folds of the fourth stage. This deformation course reflected the progressive decreases of both temperature and pressure during the process.This paper also discusses the origion mechanism of plastic folds, the statum devision of the Jiaodong Group, and the analysis method of fold crops, etc.

出露在胶东一带的前震旦系胶东群,是一套经历了多期构造变形的变质岩系。研究这一课题,对深入认识胶东地区的地壳演化、古构造特征以及地层的划分等重大地质问题有着重要的意义。本文指出:胶东群构造旋回的褶皱序列可划分为四期变形,各期的褶皱样式、规模和方向都具有不同的特征。根据本区几期褶皱发育的特点和各期叠加干涉的型式表明,这套古老的变质岩系是经历了多期构造运动作用,其变形总趋势是由第一期的强烈的构造置换和层内塑流为特征的小型褶皱开始,演变至第四期的开阔宽缓弱塑性变形的大型褶皱而告终。这一变形过程反映出温压条件由高向低变化的递减规律。此外,本文还对塑流褶皱的成因机制、胶东群的地层划分以及褶皱露头的分析等问题进行了讨论。
