In this paper, the authors briefly introduced one of the major components of the precision agriculture management system. The authors reviewed the research advances of variable rate nozzles in advanced countries in recent years. The components of the variable rate technique were analyzed, including GIS, computer controller, field positioning system, real time sensor, variable rate application equipment and other sensors. Typical variable rate application systems were discussed.

Variable-rate technology (VRT) plays an important role in the site-specific management system of agriculture. There are two basic methods of implementing site-specific management (SSM) for the variable-rate application of crop production inputs: map-based and sensor-based. The paper introduced and compared the principles of different variable-rate application systems, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. Variable-rate pesticide application is an important part of variable-rate technology and the research and application situation of this technology are discussed in detail. As a crucial implement part, variable rate nozzles are analyzed and summarized. Finally, the paper pointed out the direction of VRT and some principles that attention should be paid in the study of VRT.

可变量技术是精确农业体系中的重要组成部分,它有两种基本的变量方式:基于地图信息的可变量技术和基于实时传感器的可变量技术。为此,首先对这两类可变量实施方案的基本原理、研究现状、工作过程及优缺点进行了介绍和对比,并以可变量技术的重要组成部分(可变量喷雾技术)为主,详细介绍了可变量喷雾系统的发展状况、类型、组成及各自的优点和局限性;在此基础上又对可变量技术的执行机构(变量喷头)的研究现状和研究方法进行了总结,分析了各种变量喷头的优缺点,指出了可变量技术的发展方向和趋势。
