The paper investigates the behavior of bolted flanged joints with special combined gaskets quantitatively, with the purpose to solve two problems. One is whether the selected combined gaskets are suitable for the operation at thermal and pressure shock conditions. The other is that how much proload is needed to ensure sealing. Combined gaskets are tested at room and elevated temperatures. The transient behavior of the flanged joints at pressure and elevated temperature are also obtained by using finite element...
