The break-down arc in the switchgear equipment can make great danger to the safety of personnel and equipment, this problem has led to high attention in the international society.The article introduces the actual danger of the break-down arcs,the latest regulations of IEC on the test of break-down arcs,actions to prevent break-down arcs and as well as an introduction to a kind of breakdown arc protection device.

开关设备中的故障电弧会给人身和设备安全造成极大的危害,这个问题引起国际社会的高度关注。文章介绍了故障电弧的实际危害,国际电工委员会对故障电弧试验的最新规定,故障电弧的防护措施以及介绍一种故障电弧防护装置。
