In this paper, the upside down taper lens optical fibsr ends are used to investigate its coupling properties. The expriments of the coupling between the light source and multimode optical fiber with an UDTL end and the coupling of the two fibers are given, the results show that this kind optical devices can improve the coupling efficency and provide a potentially inexpensive and simple direct coupling method with fiber optic communication systems.

In this paper,a miniature optical isolator was reported. Its insolation is better than 40dB,and insertion loss less than 0. 35dB. And the physical size is minimized. This component can meet the needs for the coupling and package of DFB-LD light source. We introduce its operation principle and the design of its structure, then, its key specifications are discussed.

本文报道一种微型化光隔离器。隔离度大于40dB,插入损耗小于0.35dB,能适应DFB—LD光源的耦合封装要求。文中先简要介绍了器件基本原理与设计,然后对其主要性能指标进行了评估与测试。

We produce several Tm ̄(3+)-doped silica fibers with various parameters to satisfy the requirement of optical source for the methane gas detection using correlation spectroscopy.In the experiment the Tm ̄(3+)-doped fiber is pumped by a 788 um semiconductor laser diode,and the fluorescence spectra and total output fluorescence power are measured.The result shows as large as 0.25 μ W/nm fluorescence a density at 1.67 μm,which is nearly 8 times larger than the previous result obtained by coupling white light source...

从甲烷气体相关光谱检测法对光源的要求出发,试制了几种不同参数的Tm(3+)掺杂光纤,在实验上用788nm半导体激光器泵浦,测量了泵浦端出射的荧光光谱及总功率.在1.67μm处荧光功率密度达到0.25μW/nm,比用白炽灯作光源耦合多模光纤所得的结果高出8倍多,是一种较为理想的适用于甲烷气体检测的宽带光源。
