These mathematical formulations provide an easier approach toward solving synthesis problems, and allow for the generalized application of their use in like situations involving synthesis of mechanisms with elastic links. One synthesis problem is solved to illustrate the method and effect of elastic links on the cam profile, which can be seen in the following graphic descriptions.
