A new and advanced technology for enzymatic stickies control in recycled papermaking process is presented with four successful application cases in China. The esterase-based enzyme - Optimyze(r) not only decomposes macro-stickies into smaller particles but also reduces the tackiness of stickies by breaking down the ester-bands in most stickies. This mechanism prevents micro-stickies from reagglomeration in papermaking systems, alleviating stickies-related problems in papermaking process with the use of secondary...
