As intelligent human computer interface is being studied,and research on signl anguage synthesis has been paid more and more attention to.But current researches are almost all on graphics about American Sign Language and Japanese Sign Language.In this paper we analyze and compare the features of syntax and semantics of Chinese and the Chinese Sign Language.The Chinese Sign Language model is presented.According to features of syntax and semantics of Chinese and the Chinese Sign Language a translation from Chinese to the Chinese Sign Language is implemented by adopting the method of translating to intermediate language based on rules.Furthermore a text driven Chinese Sign Language synthesis system is implemented by driving the model with parameters.Sign Language synthesis is valuable to multimedia data expression and intelligent human computer interface.

随着智能人机接口研究的兴起,手语合成的研究在国际上越来越受到重视。但是现有的研究几乎都是关于美国手语和日本手语的侧重于计算机图形学方面的研究。本文从语言学角度分析并比较汉语和汉语手语各自的语法和语义特点,提出了汉语手语模型。并针对汉语和汉语手语各自的语法和语义特征采用基于规则变换到中间语言的方法实现了由汉语至汉语手语的转换。进而用参数驱动模型,采用图形学方法在计算机上实现了一个由文本驱动的汉语手语合成系统。对多媒体数据表达和智能人机接口,手语合成都非常有意义。

American Sign Language has its own grammar rules which are quite different with those of English or MCEs. For example, the order of sentences are not the same as in the spoken and written English. The deaf often put the most important parts at the end of a sentence. There are three kinds of werbs: one-direction, multi- direction and non- direction. The tenses have to be showed by some specific signs. When the deaf make sentences, they organize the sentences in four ways: subject-describe ones, reason-result...

The tenses have to be showed by some specific signs. When the deaf make sentences, they organize the sentences in four ways: subject-describe ones, reason-result ones,real time order ones and colletivity-part. As a kind of visual language, the ASL are made up of facial expressing, body language and signs.Forexample,by shaking hand to show negative; using the light, position and direction in communication. When necessary, the finger spelling is used. Then the deaf spell the sentences by words, not by letter.Only this, can we communicate better with the deaf.

This study pioneers to use FMRI method to examine the neural systems involved in overt and covert Chinese Sign Language words processing. We intend to compare the differences of the neural underpinnings of both American Sign Language and Chinese Sign Language. At the same time, the cross-modal plasticity theory was examined. The main results and conclusions are as follows: (1) The left cerebral hemisphere is dominant for processing visible sign language and vocal language as well Boca's area (Rodman 44, 45). Bernice's area (Rodman 22,23,24), supra marginal gyros and cingulated gyros are involved in both overt and covert sign language processing as in spoken language. These results suggest that the laterality of language is at least partly independent of language modality. (2) Under the sign language stimuli condition, we find no linguistic specialization in particular areas, i.e. the vision area or hearing area in both cerebral hemispheres. (3) In the field of deaf education, the bilingual teaching of sign language and spoken language using the visual system is considered an important programme.

本研究采用功能性磁共振脑成像 (fMRI)技术 ,首次以中国手语作为实验材料 ,通过外显手语和内隐手语刺激的比较 ,探查中国手语在聋人左、右半球大脑皮层的功能定位情况。研究的结果表明 :( 1 )手语与有声语言的绝大多数功能区是叠合的 ,与正常人和美国手语的研究结果相似 ,聋人的视觉性语言优势半球也是在左半球。语言的半球单侧化现象以及语言大脑功能定位区很少受语言模式特征的影响。 ( 2 )聋人手语的信息加工过程包括语言加工和视觉空间认知 ,语言加工模块与空间认知加工模块之间是存在一定的共享成分 ,这为跨模块可塑性理论提供了实证依据。 ( 3 )研究进一步表明 ,手语是一种有助于促进聋人大脑语言区活动的刺激 ,倡导在聋教中采用“双语教育”和强调中国手语的语言地位
