MCI is a novel hydrotreating process for upgrading low quality diesel distillates, such as LCO from FCC and resid FCC. The hydrotreating conversion of MCI process is between conventional hydrotreating and middle pressure hydroupgrading or hydrocracking. It has the advantages of high diesel distillate yield with high cetane number. The main purpose of the MCI process is to perform hydrotreating reactions, such as HDS, HDN, as well as improve the product cetane number. The task of improving product cetane number is realized by utilizing a new type of catalyst under nearly the same operating conditions of conventional hydrotreating. The idea of this technology is to control the reaction to the step of ring opening without cracking, which keeps the high diesel yield with high cetane number. A large amount of experimental data shows that the MCI process is sophisticated from its catalyst activity, selectivity, stability and its process simplicity. In most cases, the MCI process can increase the product cetane number more than 10 units, and maintain the diesel distillate yields higher than 95wt%.

M C I(最大限度提高十六烷值)工艺是一种改善劣质柴油馏分(如催化裂化柴油及其它高芳烃含量柴油)的加氢改质新工艺。 M C I工艺介于加氢精制和中压加氢改质( M P H G)或中压加氢裂化( M P H C)之间,它既具有加氢精制柴油馏分收率高的优点,又具有 M P H G 或 M P H C 对十六烷值提高幅度大的优点。 M C I工艺在接近加氢精制操作条件下利用一种新型催化剂进行加氢精制反应(如 H D S、 H D N 等)的同时达到提高柴油十六烷值的目的。此技术的关键是控制芳烃开环而不断链。一般情况下, M C I工艺能使柴油十六烷值提高 10 个单位以上,柴油收率高于95% 。

The first commercial application of MCI(Max Cetane Improvement) in gas oil hydrofining unit in the refinery of Jilin Chemical Industrial Company was introduced.The results showed that the MCI can not only keep higher gas oil yield,achieve the refining results that conventional hydrotreating unit achieves,but also increase greatly the cetane number(about 10 units) of diesel,upgrading diesel quality overall.

介绍了最大限度提高十六烷值的劣质催化裂化柴油加氢改质技术 (MaxCetaneImprovement,即MCI)在吉林化学工业公司炼油厂柴油加氢精制装置上的首次工业应用情况。结果表明 ,MCI在保持较高柴油收率的情况下 ,既可达到常规加氢装置的精制效果 ,又可较大幅度地提高柴油的十六烷值 (约 10个单位 ) ,全面提高柴油质量。
