As a new term of education and a new teaching method, the total objective of scientific inquiry is to foster the student’s ability of inquisition, the spirit of creativity and the realistic approach and to develop their awareness of participation and concern for society and life.
This paper makes clear the meaning of "inquiry" in children's science activities, and discusses the issues such as how to choose science content, nucleus science concepts and the process of science inquiry in science education activities.
It points out that the significance of science research teaching is to make the students' comprehend the spirits of science research, master the methods of science research, enhance the consciousness of science research and foster the students' competence of science research by teaching.
