An experiment was conducted to determine whether different moisture levers of litter and perches of different hygienic conditions are involved producing foot pad dermatitis in white leghon layers.Four different treatments were compared : dry litter and dry perches;dry litter and wet perches; wet litter and dry perches; wet litter and wet perches.Temperature,pH,air humidity and ammonia changes in the pens were monitored. The mean prevalence of foot pad lesion in groups 1,2, 3 and 4 were 17%, 13%, 49% and 48% respectively.The overall incidence of foot pad lesions in birds reared on dry litter was 38%,and in birds reared on wet litter was 92%.When the air temperature was above 20℃,an increasing level of moisture in the litter was associated with increasing incidence of foot pad dermatitis.However,when the air temperature was below 20℃, there were no new cases of dermatitis in any of the four treatments. There were no signficant differences in pH or ammonia between the four treatments when compared over the whole experiment. Although the incidence of lesions was not significantly affected by the presence of wet perches, the area of the lesions was significantly larger in groups with wet perches than in groups with dry perches. It is suggested that moisture and temperature are important contributing factors for the occurence of foot pad dermatitis in laying hens. It is further suggested that wet perches contribute to the severity of such lesions.

本文研究了不同湿度垫料和不同卫生条件栖木对平养蛋鸡脚掌皮炎的影响。试验分4组,各组的处理方法是:第1组,干垫料和干栖木;第2组,干垫料和湿栖木;第3组,湿垫料和干栖木;第4组,湿垫料和湿栖木。试验结果表明,在发生脚掌皮炎的5个月内,平均每月患病率各组分别为17%,13%,49%和48%,第1、2组分别与第3、4组相比较,差异极显著(p<001);在整个试验期间,饲养在干垫料组(第1、2组)的总发病率为38%,饲养在湿垫料组(第3、4组)的总发病率为92%,两者相比较,差异极显著(p<001)。试验结果还指出,当鸡舍内温度超过20℃时,脚掌皮炎的发生率随着垫料湿度的升高而增加;当低于20℃时,各组均无一只病例出现。在整个试验期间,各组垫料pH值及氨气无明显差异。虽然湿的栖木对脚掌皮炎的发生率无明显影响,但其病灶面积及其严重程度却明显大于干栖木组。由此看来,垫料湿度和鸡舍温度是平养蛋鸡脚掌发生皮炎的重要因素。
