However, very few of the articles were publi shed on the fracture behavior of soft metal matrix composite materials.The purpose of this paper is to research into the fracture process of lead-base alloy composites which are reinforced with carbon fiber by using liquid infiltration method. Their tensile fracture features are investigated with the scanning electron microscope. The conclusion is as follows ,the plastic property of the matrix, interfacial strengch between carbon fiber and matrix and the distribution of fiber in matrix all influence the fracture path of lead-base alloy composites to a large extent.The authors point out that the combination of strength and ductility of metal matrix and a strong interfacial bonding of fiber and matrix should be required for soft metal matrix composites.

本文旨在通过碳纤维增强铅基复合材料的断裂过程分析,探索软金属基体经纤维增强后其复合材料的断裂行为。作者选择了纯Pb、Pb-Sn10%、Pb-Sn5%-Sb17%三种不同成份的合金作为基体制成复合材料,拉断后对断口进行了宏观和扫描电镜观察,结果表明:基体本身的机械性能、纤维与基体间界面的结合强弱及纤维在基体中分布均匀程度均影响铅基复合材料的断裂过程,从而影响复合材料的拉伸强度。因此文章指出,软金属基复合材料欲获得高的断裂强度,应选择强韧性有一定配合的基体,并具有适当的基体与纤维的界面结合强度,纤维在基体中的均匀分布也应设法保证。

The purpose of this work is to develop production of carbon fibre reinforced Pb or Pballoy composite materials by molten metal infiltration.In order to increase the Wettability between carbon fibre and metal matrix,the carbon fibres havebeen plated nickel.Addition of minor amounts(3.5% vol)of carbon fibre the tensile strength of thePb matrix composite materials.was improved significantly.And the fracture surfaces of the tensil(?) sam-ples were also analysised by scanning electron microscope.

碳纤维的强度高、刚度高、密度低、热膨胀系数小(-0.1~0.21×10~2/℃)导电、导热,而且尺寸稳定性好,石墨本身还具有自润滑作用,因此作为金属基复合材料的增强物是很引人注目的。目前所供应的细的多丝纤维束是由1,000~10,000根丝组成的,每根丝的平均直径为7微米。如何使被增强的基体金属充分地包围每根纤维丝,成为这类复合材料制备中的一个问题,本文用液态基体金属渗透法来制备碳纤维增强铅及其合金,並对此种复合材料的制造工艺以及所得到的拉伸性能和断口形貌进行了初步分析。

This Paper summarily describes the principal character of composites, reviews the relation between the tribological properties and structure of two types of composite. Developing tendency of composites has been discussed, too.

本文概要介绍了复合材料的基本特点,综述了高聚物复合材料和金属基复合材料的摩擦学特性与组织之间的关系,介绍了这两类复合材料的目前发展动向。
