This paper compares the role number, vocation type and role image of both sexes in the present Chinese texbooks for primary schools, thus showing a considerble sexism in them. 在比较现行小学语文教材中的男女角色数量、男女职业类型、男女角色形象的基础上,揭示出现行小学语文教材中存在着较为严重的性别偏见。 Textbooks, as a leading companion to pupils in school life, offer an important means by which pupils perceive the world and get to know about human life, thus exercising a great impact on the process of their growth.
