According to the multi_input/multi_output (MIMO) non_linear properties of ge_ neral compensator, this article presents a new approach in the design of general compensator based on the principles of fuzzy neural networks. And for the first time the approach is applied to automate the generation of fuzzy control rules and device parameters.
This paper introduces the basic conception of harmonics and reactive power, their harm to power system and the methods to compensating harmonics and reactive power. Then the foundation of UPQC is proposed and its operation principle is analyzed.
