A Monte-Carlo simulation method of rock quality designation (RQD) is presented in this paper based on the negative exponential distribution and lognormal distribution for modeling the discontinuity spacings. First of all, 500000 random structure planes were generated based on the negative exponential or lognormal distribution to form a long scan line according to the generation sequence. Subsequently, a series of scan lines, which are about 2 m long in accordance with the practical drilling engineering, were generated based on the uniformly distributed random sampling on the above long scan line and homologous rock quality designations are computed. Meanwhile, the mean value of RQD and cumulative distribution curves of these RQD values were obtained within the same simulation program and the results are plotted. For most rock masses in the nature the mean value of RQD, rock quality percentage (RQP) and rock quality risk (RQR) can be read off from the rock quality description charts plotted in this paper.

本文针对岩体结构面间距最常见的两种分布形式——负指数分布和对数正态分布,探讨了岩石质量指标(RQD)的Monte-Carlo模拟方法。首先根据结构面间距分布密度函数产生包含50万个随机结构面并按生成顺序排列的模拟真实岩体的总测线,然后为了和实际钻探时以2m测线计算RQD相一致,在总测线上按均匀分布形式随机抽取≥2m的局部测线共5万个计算RQD单值,并进一步统计得出所有RQD的平均值、RQD累积分布曲线及岩石质量描述图。对于自然界大部分岩体,可根据结构面间距统计参数,直接在本文得出的一系列岩石质量图上定出RQD平均值、岩石质量百分比(RQP)及岩石质量风险(RQR)。

The anti-slip stability of high arc dam shoulders depends on the development of lateral crack planes boundaries. In many cases, these cracks consist of joints in random distribution. So it is of very important engineering significance to find out the characteristics of the joints for stability analysis and design of dam shoulders. In this paper, taking a designed high arc dam located in southwestern China as an example, the authors make a systematic quantitative description of the joints system at the damsite. Several tens thousands of data about the joints were collected in extensive field investigation. These data were analyzed carefully and all features, such us joints distribution, geometry and structures were picked up. Based on these features, a distribution model was quantitatively set up and an engineering of zoning of joints is suggested, which gave a clear and visual expression of the joints development and the state of the lateral crack planes, especially the general exsistence of joints for anti-slip stability of the dam shoulder. Finally, the condition of anti-slip stability of the dam shoulders was assessed in terms of the joints model presented in this paper.

某高拱坝工程 ,坝肩抗滑稳定的侧裂边界主要受与河流呈小角度斜交的随机结构面 (基体结构面 )控制。查明这类结构面的工程地质性状 ,提出其量化评价指标 ,对该高拱坝工程坝肩稳定性评价和相应设计参数的取值具有重要的工程实际意义。本文基于大量的现场调查工作 ,获取了侧裂结构面数万个现场实测数据。基于这些数据 ,作者对侧裂结构面的发育状况和工程地质特征作了全面的分析和定量评价。在此基础上 ,提出了坝肩抗力体部位侧裂结构面的工程分区。该分区采用结构面的发育密度作为指标 ,能简明直观地描述抗力体部位结构面的发育状况和宏观连通特性。最后 ,作者根据本文的研究成果 ,从抗滑稳定的边界条件特性出发 ,对该高拱坝工程坝肩抗滑稳定性条件作出了评价。
