An improved adaptive threshold modulation method for jitter reduction in SDH/SONET

SDH standard is compatible with PDH. In this case, the conventional +/0/-pulse stuffing synchronization approach is unsatisfactory because very low frequency jitter reduction is difficulty.This paper introduces a new stuff threshold modulation synchronization technigue, and shows the principles. In particular,The stuffing jitter is derived. some important conclutions are given to instruct the circuit design.

SDH技术体制为了兼容SDH与PDH可能使得普通正/0/负码速调整同步化方法抖动频率太低而使抖动难以抑制,本文提出了门限调制码速调整进行同步化的新方法,并介绍了其工作原理,着重对门限调制码速调整的科动进行了分析,并得出了用以指导设计的一些重要结论。

The timing jitter induced by pointer adjustments represents a technical problem in SDH based network.Because of the characteristics of its large amplitude and low frequency,the result of reducing jitter is unsatisfied using usual way. A new method of pointer spreading——double period leaking and modulating desynchronizer is proposed in this paper.The effect on reducing jitter is obvious and its curcuit is simple.

在SDH同步系统中,指针调整所引起的抖动因其具有幅度大、频率低的特点,很难用普通的方法去除而成为数字网传输损伤的重要因素。本文将提出一种新的方法——双周期泄漏-序列调制法。并针对其原理、参数的选择以及计算的结果做一些讨论。此方法综合了比特泄漏与收端门限调制的共同作用,能有效降低抖动,且电路实现也很简单。

This paper introduces a kind of way which can reduce the timing jitter induced by bit justification--adaptive threshold modulation.The theoretical analysis and digital implementation are developed.The comparison between stuff threshold modulation and adaptive threshold modulation proves that the later is better.

本文主要介绍一种自适应门限调制法,此方法可有效减少由于码速调整而引起的接收端恢复的时钟抖动。针对其原理、参数的选择以及模拟结果作一些讨论,并与其他门限调制法作简单的比较,从而显示其优越性。
