This paper presents an algorithm of routing and inserting buffers simultaneously to reduce wire delay for a two-pin net under fixed buffer locations based on accurate delay models.

An algorithm for user recognition and time delay estimation (UR/TDE) in asynchronous band limited DS CDMA systems is discussed. The algorithm, which is based on minimum output energy (MOE) criterion, consists of two stages, UR and TDE. The UR stage is designed to determine whether a user transmits signal while requiring only a prior knowledge of the users signature codes. If a user is active, an initial and coarse TDE is available, and the following TDE stage is needed, which is designed to get fine estimation by an efficient search strategy for active users. Simulations are carried out. The results show that the algorithm is near far resistant, and the accuracy of TDE outperforms that of the subspace method. According to the simulation results, an improved algorithm, described as first TDE and then UR, are propvsed to enhance the UR performance.
