The algorithm, which is based on minimum output energy (MOE) criterion, consists of two stages, UR and TDE. The UR stage is designed to determine whether a user transmits signal while requiring only a prior knowledge of the users signature codes. If a user is active, an initial and coarse TDE is available, and the following TDE stage is needed, which is designed to get fine estimation by an efficient search strategy for active users. Simulations are carried out. The results show that the algorithm is near far resistant, and the accuracy of TDE outperforms that of the subspace method. According to the simulation results, an improved algorithm, described as first TDE and then UR, are propvsed to enhance the UR performance.

In the case that time delay is not an integer multiple of the sampling interval, the filter weights with a sinc function are usually incorporated to obtain the time delay. However, the sinc interpolator requires a sufficiently long filter for accurate delay estimation. In this paper, a new method (called“minimum sum of squares of weighted error”) is proposed to realize the optimum delay estimation even with a short filter in the domain of higher order cumulants. The results of the theoretical analysis and simulation are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the new method.

在水声信号处理中,有时普通滤波器不能够满足应用要求,需要利用具有任意的给定频率响应的滤波器。本文利用自适应方法设计具有给定频率响应的FIR滤波器,并将该方法设计的滤波器用于产生宽带信号的精确时延信号和进行时域宽带波束形成,使用效果较好。该类滤波器使用非常有效,而且计算量小,易于工程实现。
