A new technique of deformation for parametric curves is presented in this article.First,a special extension factor of B-spline is introduced and a transformation matrix is constructed.Then,original curves are deformed through multiplying it by the transformation matrix.The coefficients of the B-spline expension are the control parameters of the deformation.Interactively adjusting these parameters,we can quantified control the region of deformation,the amount of deformation,the direction of deformation and the continuity and smoothing of junction between deformed and undeformed portions.The implementation shows that the method is simple,intuitive,easy to control and ideal deformation effects to be got.It can be used in many fields such as geometric modeling,computer animation and CAD.

提出一种新的参数曲线变形方法:采用一种特殊的B样条展开式作为伸缩函数,构造了具有明确几何意义的变换矩阵,用它作用于待变形的曲线,可使曲线发生变形。此方法数学模型简单而变形效果良好。展开式的系数作为变形的控制参数,每个参数具有局部可控性,变形效果较丰富。可分别定量地控制变形的发生区间、变形区间界点处的连续性与光滑性、变形方向和变形幅度等。实验表明,该方法通过交互改变控制参数,可获得预期的、丰富的形状修改和变形效果,适用于几何造型、计算机动画、CAD等领域。

Purpose.This paper starts by discussing the shortcomings of other authors~() and those of our previous papers~() on deformation of parametric surfaces.This paper improves on our previous research.In the full paper we explain in detail our method of constructing affine transform matrix with bivariate B-spline extension function for facilitating deformation of parametric surfaces;in this abstract we just give a briefing.The coefficients of the bivariate B-spline extension function are the control parameters of the deformation.Eqs.(1) through(10) in the full paper are,mathematically speaking,all we need for applying our method in this paper.In the full paper, we point out that the deformation corresponding to affine transform matrix has two important properties and that there are six ways in which deformation can be controlled.By adjusting the coefficients of bivariate B-spline extension function,we can control the region,the amount,the direction of deformation and the smooth degree of deformed surface on the boundary curve quantificationally;especially we like to point out that our method can accomodate very well strikingly local characteristics of deformed surface.Figs.2 through 6 in the full paper show the deformation capabilities of our method for facilitating deformation to desired shapes from its original shape in Fig.1;implementing Figs.2 through 6 indicates that our method is simple,intuitive and easy to control;especially Figs.2 through 6 all show that strikingly local characteristics can be implemented.

发展了一种新的参数曲面变形方法:采用一种特殊的二元B样条展开式作为变换的伸缩函数,构造了具有明确几何意义的变换矩阵,对于待变形的曲面部分,逐点施行仿射变换,B样条展开式的系数可作为变形的控制参数,每个参数具有局部可控性,可分别定量地控制变形的发生区域、变形区域边界处的连续性与光滑性、变形方向和变形幅度等。实验表明,该方法数学模型简单,计算量小,通过交互改变控制参数,可获得预期的丰富的形状修改和变形效果。适用于几何造型、计算机动画、CAD等领域。
