After a review of the designprinciples under special consideration of heating effects, the main features of the apparatus aredescribed, including resonance tracking, laser energy modulation and temperature measurementof the freely suspended particle, the spectral emissivity of which varies obviously during thereaction course. It has been demonstrated experimentally that the apparatus is capable ofcontinuously levitating various particles of densities less than alundnium at temperatures up to400 ℃. The levitation instability of the particle was observed, especially at higher heating rate.The levitation instabilities are attributed to the interaction of complex acoustic streandng andgravityinduced thermal convection, therefore are hardly avoided for a ground-based acousticlevitator. However, levitation stability can be improved by virtue of careful structure designand operation.

In this paper, the physics of optical klystron, which including the beam energy modulation,the beam density modulation and the harmonic super radiation are simulated.

采用数值模拟的方法,结合合肥同步辐射自由电子激光的实际参数,并考虑了三维空间效应及束流能散度、发射度等影响,计算了电子束的能量调制、密度调制及谐波超辐射等物理过程.

The computation is clarified for the electron beam density modulation in optical klystron on storage ring free electron laser with three different methods,and the effects of electron beam parameters on density modulation are also studied.The numerical results show that the three dimensional simulation is necessary.

在文[1]讨论了电子束能量调制的前提下,讨论电子束在光速调管中色散段的密度调制,以及诸多因素对密度调制的影响。给出了色散段设计参数的选择原则,并讨论了电子束主要参数的限制。最后结合合肥同步辐射环的参数给出了一组储存环紫外波段自由电子激光中密度调制的参考数据。
