The surface area, pore structure and surface energy of some general clay minerals, including kaolinite, bentonite, vermiculite, sericite, annite, steatite, pyrophyllite, sepiolite, attapulgite and K_feldspar, were measured systematically with N_2 adsorption technique. The surface area, pore structure and surface energy of some general clay minerals, including kaolinite, bentonite, vermiculite, sericite, annite, steatite, pyrophyllite, sepiolite, attapulgite and K_feldspar, were measured systematically with N_2 adsorption technique. The relationship between surface characteristics, micropore structure and minerals structure, chemical components as well as processing technologies and properties is discussed. The results show that the surface characteristics are determined by the minerals structure, and the rather large difference of the surface characteristics of minerals may caused by slight discrepancy of minerals composition. The results of measurements of minerals surface characteristics could offer more accurate data for the development of new applications of the clay minerals materials.

用N2 吸附法系统测试了高岭石、蒙脱石、叶蜡石、滑石、凹凸棒石、海泡石、铁云母、绢云母、蛭石、钾长石等 10种常见工业矿物材料的比表面积、孔结构以及表面能特征。初步讨论矿物表面特征、微孔结构与矿物晶体结构、化学成分以及加工工艺、性能之间的联系。研究结果表明 :矿物的表面特征是由其矿物结构决定的 ,矿物成分的微小差异可能导致矿物表面特征的较大差别。矿物表面特征测试的结果可以为粘土类工业矿物的环境应用和材料开发提供基础数据

The principal characteristics of mineral materials were analyzed.The technological feasibility, application potentials and the significance of nano technology application in mineral materials were explained.Test results show that the combination of mechanical grinding, dispersing and surface modifying benefits the preparation of mineral nano powders.Mineral fibers can be split to nano diameter scales at the condition of proper selection of dispersing agents and methods according to the surface features and utilization requirements.Nano intercalation or film coating of layered minerals such as vermiculite and mica as well as manufacturing of mineral nano pore materials and nano composites can also be practicable and have vast foreground.The development of mineral nano materials is probably one of the important means to prepare nano materials at low costs and is favorable to the promotion of the nano materials industrialization and to the sustainable development of human society.

根据矿物的表面特征及应用要求选择合适的分散剂和分散方法进行矿物纤维的分散可以实现矿物纤维纳米化。另外,开发纳米插层及涂层技术在蛭石、云母等层状矿物上的应用,研究新型纳米孔材料及矿物纳米复合材料等不仅技术上可行,而且具有广阔的发展前景。矿物纳米材料的开发是低成本制备纳米材料的重要突破口之一,对于实现纳米材料的产业化和普及化具有强有力的推动作用。开发矿物材料有利于人类社会的可持续发展
