With development massive current thyristor power and resolving the difficult question of electrically conductive. furnace bottom, the DC arc furnace is now rapidly gaining ground in the field of electric steelmaking. Most new furnaces being built are DC furnaces and some of existing AC furnaces have been converted to DC operations.

用作者研制的电弧冶炼铸造设备进行了超磁致伸缩材料的冶炼铸造工艺研究。经过大量熔铸试验说明该设备较简单,冶炼铸造工艺合理,时间短,成本低,能制备6~15,长10~110mm的多晶合金棒。合金回收率可达8957%~9662%,稀土元素烧损率可控制在455%~1233%范围内。
