The development of a picosecond GaAs photoconduotive switch is reported. The physics characteristic of silicon optoelectronic switch is discussed throu-gh the experiment.Because the voltage pulse is of obvious observation,It can notdamage oscilloscope,and the proportionality is energy ratio,the switching usedis a good detector for the measurement of signal noise ratio of high power laser.

Photocondutive switches with microstrios structure were designed and made on semi-insulating Cr-doped GaAs slabs, Si~+ions implantation techniques was used for the first time, The results of measurement showed that the contact resistance between metal electrodes and Cr: GaAs materials was reduced, and the transportation efficiency of photoconductive switches was improved greatly.
