The general pattern of the velocity is as follows: along the vertical axis from the top of the kiln to the bottom the circulation velocity is of a low value at the top, increases gradually downwards and then decreases to the minimum at the middle level of the vertical axis somewhere just above the rim of the fan. The kiln is simple in structure, consumes little energy and has good heat preservation, but it is not well airtighted. The air flow in the drying chamber is weak, the temperature distribution in the wood stack is uneven. and the kiln has no perfect control systems. Such problems as surface and end cracks, great deformation, and uneven distribution of final moisture content were observed during the process of drying Tsuga chinensis and Pinus massoniana planks in the kiln.

通过测试窑体的部分性能和进行杉松中板工艺试验,考察安装在贵州省林机厂的某HMA型电加热远红外木材干燥窑的构造特征和工艺效果。这类窑构造简单、耗能较少、保温性较好;但密封性差、气流循环弱、温度分布不均、监控系统不完善。用这种窑干燥杉松中板时,存在着表裂和端裂严重、残余变形大、终含水率不均等质量缺陷。

The structure and behaviour of the ventilating-circle annealing lehr designed by Corning Glass Works has been described. This paper has also summarised the experience with this annealing lehr. It is worthy to be refered to.
