The present author holds the view that reading at present plays the most important role in college English teaching. Firstly, it is an easier and more effective way for learners to remember new words. Secondly, it is supposed that reading is much required in learning English. Thirdly, the learners present linguistic knowledge is rather insufficient, while reading is one of the most important ways to help learners to learn the linguistic knowledge well and to improve their language ability as a whole.

大学英语教学包括对学生听、说、读、写、译能力的培养。中国的大学英语教学一般都是在正规环境中进行 ,即课堂教学。在正规环境中 ,人们主要关心的是语言形式和规则 ,其结果有别于自然环境中学习的结果。笔者认为 ,在现行条件下 ,阅读是大学英语教学的切入点。阅读能促进学习者掌握语言知识 ,而且阅读是实际工作中的第一需求。当然 ,以阅读为主并不表示忽略英语其它技能的培养。我们强调阅读 ,除了阅读在语言交际中的重要作用外 ,在很大程度上也是因为阅读能为听、说、写、译水平的提高起有力的促进作用。因此 ,阅读教学应大力加强 ,以提高学生的综合英语水平

Under the effective guidance of the teacher,the aim of extensive reading is to help the stu-dents improve their reading efficiency.Focused on perfecting the classroom teaching,this paper de-picts a series of relative teaching procedures,through which,the students' reading efficiency will be gradually achieved;with their interests in reading aroused and thus their comprehensive English level improved at last.

阅读教学的目的是在教师的有效引导下,帮助学生提高阅读效率。本文从优化课堂教学角度出发,阐述了一系列相辅相成的教学主要环节。加强对这些环节的训练,能帮助学习者逐步提高阅读效率,激发阅读兴趣,从而促进其综合英语水平的提高。

Poor listening comprehension is one of serious factors that leads to poor comprehensive English level including reading, writing and speaking. Many college students may have poor achievement in their tests such as CET-4 or 6 since their comprehensive level is inadequate. This paper focuses on some practical strategies with which the college students may adopt to improve their listening abilities so as to help them with their comprehensive English level.

 听力的好差是影响英语综合能力包括读、写和说的重要因素之一。许多大学生因其综合英语水平较差,在进行大学英语四、六级考试时成级也较差。本文重点通过对一些学生可以采用来提高其听力的实际运用策略进行讨论,从而帮助他们全面提高英语的综合水平。
