A new cotton type with cleistogamous trait, designated as 1057-1, was isolated from the F2 of an interspecific cross between Gossypium hisutum and G. barbadense. Although the results indicated that no deleterious effect of cleistogamy on agronomic traits was detected, the lint yield of BC1 was 60% of E-Jing 1. Additional backcrossing is needed.

1990年在国内首次从陆海杂种后代中分离到稳定的闭花受精棉花材料1057-1,并开展该材料的遗传与转移工作。分析表明,在陆地棉遗传背景中,闭花受精受一对隐性基因支配。在鄂荆1号BC1代中,闭花受精亚群体与开花受精亚群体在产量、衣分、衣指、绒长、伸长度和麦克隆值等性状上都无显著差异。初步结果说明闭花受精基因对棉花产量、品质不存在显著的不良影响,培育高产优质的闭花受精棉花品种是可行的。闭花受精棉花在遗传育种基础理论研究和良种繁育(品种防杂保纯)上具有十分重要的应用前景。

Broad bean and pea are the first .second food legumes in China. This study summarized the achievements, problems and directions in the breeding of two crops in 30 years .including genetic resources .breeding target, breeding methods and the aspects of breeding foundations.
