直接成分法句法是结构主义语言学派对句子结构进行分析的主要方法。它从句子横向和纵向结构两个方面,按照句子、短语、词及词素等基本成分和它们之间的相互关系,把句子在不同层次上依次分成不同成分,直至不可分时为止。其主要特点是,句子各类成分之间的横向和纵向的结构关系可以明确地在不同层次上用其特定的树形图或其他类似的方式表示出来。由于直接成分法主要基于句子的表层结构而不能从句子的深层结构对句子进行分析,因此这种方法不能反映句子成分之间深层结构的关系。
