本文是关于湖南大学理工科学生英语口语水平的一项实验研究。这次水平测试对象涉及从本科生到博士生五个水平层次。评分采取三维量化,现场与事后两次性交叉进行。结果表明本项测试的信度、效度均较高,反映了我校理工科学生英语口语表达能力之现状,为日后加强口语教学提供了一些事实依据。本文还就口语测试客观化问题进行了讨论。

Assimilation is a common phenomenon in English pronunciation. The forms or pronunciations of some words in Early English have changed because of assimilation while the pronunciations of some other words have changed into new sounds when coalesced with adjacent sounds in certain contexts. A systematic knowledge of assimilation will facilitate fluency in English speaking and improve listening comprehension as well.

语音同化是英语口语发音中一种非常普遍的现象。早期英语中的词形或发音正是由于同化过程转化而来 ,另有一些词的发音则在语境中发生变化 ,或与其他邻近发音合并产生新的音。对于同化现象较为系统的研究 ,有助于提高英语口语表达的流利程度 ,增强听力理解的能力
