Chemical compositions examination, tensile and impact tests, de hydrogenation and de brittleness heat treatment, and fracture surface analysis were performed. Tensile test results show that the tensile properties of the material have not degraded after five years exposure to the environment. The results of impact tests show that the toughness of the material after five years exposure to the environment has degraded and the degree of the toughness degradation for weld metal is much more than that of base metal. The test results reveal that the toughness degradation is caused by the high temperature tempering during long term service.
