The paper deduces the quantitative calculating formula of the cumulative return loss which is caused by a few insertion pieces in a optical fiber line, and presents the experiment in which the cumulative return loss for from one to ten mechanical splices are measured by the method of OCWR. The experiment results tally with the theoretic values. Furtheymore, the theoretic calculating formula show that the addition of insertion pieces are increased, in this experiment,the curve of the cumulative return loss...
