The relationship between La addition and average length of β Fe phase in recycled ZL102 alloy was examined, and the distribution of La element in β Fe phase and alloy was analyzed. The results showed that La formed stable intermetallic compound in melt and promoted the nucleation of β Fe phase in recycled Al Si alloy during solidification. Meanwhile, the enrichment of La in surface of the β Fe phase restricted its growth. So, RE La element can refine the β Fe phase in recycled alloy significantly.

The rock-candy structure of the brittle fracture for recycling Al-Si alloys and the causes of its formations were investigated .The results shows that the existence of the coarsening flaky phase of β -Al5FeSi in the recycling Al-Si alloy causes it to break in brittleness. When the melt of recycling Al alloy pours in a very hot mould, its temperature has reduced slowly down through the precipitation point of the β -Fe phase. At this time , the β -Fe phase has grow preferentially following the (100)...

At this time , the β -Fe phase has grow preferentially following the (100) orientation in the slightly supercooling molten pool through the temperature near its precipitation point and coarsened perfectly.

通过金相、SEM、EDS和DTA、x ray衍射对再生副牌ZL10 2合金锭次品样件中出现的“粗大晶面”脆性断口和样件进行分析和相关试验。研究结果表明 ,脆性断裂是由于粗大脆性片状 β Fe相的存在 ,在生产再生铝合金锭时 ,合金液冷却速度过慢 ,并在铁相析出温度附近停留时间过长 ,由α Al枝晶包围的过冷熔体中的 β Fe相少量核心 ,并沿 (10 0 )面择优生长和粗化 ,从而生成了粗大脆性的片状 β Al5FeSi相。
