    Results of studies on Seepage flow problem of the earth-rock fill dam of the leftbank of Danjianagkou Hydroproject are presented in this paper. The results indicate that concen-trated Seepage flow in 1 + 160 ~ 1 + 197 monolith at the left bank are nonsignificant, and theSeepage flow through the mass of dam are safe, and it is not necessary to design a concrete cutoffwall at the monolith.

    The Shanxi Wanjiazhai Yellow River Diversion Project(YRDP)is what is called a “life project”.It will not only settle once for all the water shortage problem in nation's bases of energy,heavy and chemical industries of Taiyuan,Shuozhou and Datong Cities,ensuring these districts' continuous development thereby but also will be able to promote the development of industry amd agriculture all over the province,to raise the living standard of the local people.The project consists of the Wanjiazhai Dam,the General Main Line,the South Main Line,the North Main Line and the Connection Works. The Wanjiazhai Dam,of the concrete gravity type,is located along the main stream of the Yellow River,the west of Wanjiazhai Village,Pianguan County,Shanxi Province.The dam is 90m high at the highest point.The total capacity of the reservoir is 896 million m 3.The power station at the toe of the dam has an installed capacity of 1.08 million kw and an annual energy output of 275 thousand kw.The water intake for the diversion project is located at the left side of the dam. The General Main Line extends from the water intake to Xiatuzhai Village of Pianguan County,with a total length of 44.4 km. The flow rate at this section is 48m 3/s and its annual diversion capacity is 1.2 billion m 3.The South Main Line starts from Xiatuzhai Village and ends at Toumaying Village in Ningwu County,with a total length of 102.08 km.The flow rate at this section is 25.8m 3/s and its annual diversion capacity 640 million m 3.The Connection Works refers to the section from Toumaying Village to Huyan Water Treatment Plant,of which the total length is 139.4km.The North Main Line runs from the bifurcation at Xiatuzhai Village to the Zhaijiaxiaocun Reservoir of Datong City via Shuozhou,where the water conveyance line turns off to the north,its total length is 166.88km,flow rate is 22.2m 3/s,the annual delivery is 560 million m 3. The over all length of the water conveyance line of the Yellow River Diversion Project totals 452.8 km,including 208.22km of tunnels,101.88km of culverts,40.3km of pipelines.Besides,there are 39 aqueducts,6 inverted siphons,6 pump stations and 3 reservoirs on the water conveyance line .The total lift of the 6 pump stations is 636m and their total installed capacity of 459 thousand kw.The three reservoirs,for regulating purpose,have a total regulating capacity of 288 million m 3. The Yellow River Diversion is divided into two stages.The first stage includes the General Main Line,the South Main Line,the Connection Works and the installation of part of the pump units,taking aim at supplying water to Taiyuan area.The second stage includes the North Main Line,the regulating reservoirs of the South Main Line and the installation of the remaining pump units.The International Competitive Bidding (ICB)and National Competitive Bidding(NCB)are to be put into practice. The Shanxi Wanjiazhai Yellow River Diversion Project will best meet the water needs of its service area till 2020 or an even longer duration.

    The YRDP will have a large consumption of aggregate as its large scale and long conveyance,2,360,000 m 3 of aggregate is needed only in the first phase.At present situation,sand is mainly obtained fron the Dadongliang aggregate reclaiming plant and crushed stone is purchased from the privately owned crushing mill nearby or manufactured by contractors themselves.However,the quality problems that too fine is the sand,more than what is specified is the oversize or subsize content of the crush stone were found...

    引黄工程规模大、战线长,砂石料用量大,仅一期工程需236万m3。目前,砂料主要来源于河曲县大东梁砂料场,碎石则是从工程附近私营石料场购买或承包商自己加工破碎。1996年12月和1997年11月两次对砂石料进行质量检测,发现砂料粒径偏细,碎石超逊径含量超标等质量问题。为保证工程质量,降低工程造价,通过分析砂石料场的质量、储量、开采及运输等因素,提出将枢纽砂石料加工厂及上土寨砂石料加工厂人工砂石料作为工程的主要料源,并划分其供应范围,国际Ⅱ、Ⅲ标可由承包商自己加工砂石料。联接段工程砂料缺乏,所选砂料场运距远,费用高,建议统一加工砂石料。
