A set of computer controlled FES system, which aids paraplegic training and walking, is introduced in this paper. It mainly consists of an Apple II micro--computer, a multi-channel electrical stimulator, interface equipments, position sensors, surface electrodes, a specially designed exercise chair, a bicycle and training programes. It was used for paraplegic patients in training of muscle strength, muscle endurance standing and walking. A 31 year--old male, suffered from complete SCI paraplegia for 8 years, is now able to stand for more than 15 minutes and walk smoothly for more than 30 steps with the system. We let sacrospinalis and glutaeus muscles participate in the standing and walking with FES, which greatly postpones the appearance of muscle fatigue, increases the training time of standing and the walking distance, makes the standing--up movement smooth, easy and natural, walking movement balanced and co-ordinated. Modern computer controlled technique makes, the system intellectually self--controlled and hence more scientific, and advanced. A rehabilitative training method and training process of paraplegic walking was introduced.

在3例截瘫患者的康复锻炼中,应用电脑控制的固定脚踏车,目的是帮助其提高肌耐力,改善心血管系统功能。锻炼每周进行3次,每次踏车10min,锻炼过程中,电脑控制多通道电刺激器在不同象限内顺序刺激双下肢的骼肌、股四头肌、小腿三头肌来完成踏车运动。在锻炼中记录自行踏车时间,并观察血压、脉搏的动态变化。结果表明,经过4周锻炼,患者在肌容积、肌耐力及心血管系统功能方面都有了较大程度提高。
